Aragon: Hell's Asylum

After being involved in a dangerous car accident, Jack Harper resolved to make sure that his daughter Melanie would still be able to live out a normal life. In a turn of events, Jack now has to train Melanie for the most extreme scenario: the fight for survival.

The Earliest Memory

This project was originally a very simple third person shooter that took elements from games like the original DOOM. However, as my knowledge base grew and became more familiar with the engine. I decided to incorporate a story and new elements that I developed to create something unique.

The Present

It’s been a long time coming, I’ve been working on Hell’s Asylum independently outside of class for almost a year now (at time of writing) and it is interesting to see how far the project has come along. To see how much I’ve learned and knowing how it will benefit me in the future.

Here, I’m testing a Widget Blueprint for the various computers the player can find. These aid in exposition and background storytelling.

What happens next?

I’m looking to bring in new people to help with development, create unique art assets and bring it to more people for play-testing. I’m always interested in seeing people react to my programming and seeing how they break it.

The Future

This won’t be the only game in the series. There is another story in the Aragon universe where Melanie plays a key role. But that is another story for another time. Another place, another kingdom.
